AP x Swatch shipped a $400 Royal Oak on a necklace. Sell the wrist clip.
Royal Pop is an octagon on a lanyard. People wanted it on a wrist. The hustle is the extension, or bolt it to an 8-ball.

Audemars Piguet x Swatch Royal Pop is not a wristwatch. It is a pocket watch on a cord.
AP x Swatch dropped Royal Pop and the internet did what it always does with a collab: it waited for a Royal Oak you could strap on. What shipped is a bioceramic octagon: eight screws, tapisserie dial, the whole AP silhouette, hanging from a calfskin lanyard.
Four hundred dollars. Crown at 12 or at 3. Wear it as a necklace, clip it to a bag, stand it on a desk. Swatch will tell you there are “no limits.” The photos still look like jewelry that happens to tell time.
The comments are the brief. People are not saying they hate the object. They are saying they would buy it if it lived on a wrist like a watch. Some of them are already joking they would glue the head to an 8-ball just so it exists in a room instead of a campaign film.
Swatch sells extra lanyard lengths. They will not sell you a proper strap adapter. Collabs are closed. Aftermarket is where the money sits when two houses ship a vibe instead of a wrist.
